I am the founder of Extreme Texas Metal, a website created to support and promote the underground metal scene in Texas. My initial goal when I started out, was to help promote the metal bands in Austin. That quickly expanded to a statewide adventure. I met many musicians, promoters, supporters, distros, and your everyday metalheads while I lived in Austin. I was fortunate to call many of them friends, and some I consider family. I thank them all for the support they gave me while I started ETM, and especially for the support when I was forced to let it go.
There were many changes in my personal life that brought about the end of ETM several years ago. I just couldn't keep it going, especially after my previous web host informed me that their server crashed, and everything I had worked out was wiped out of existance. Thank goodness for the Wayback Machine for their snapshots I was able to access.
As luck will have it, my job has given me the financial means to be able to afford having the website again. I recently found the domain name was up for auction, and jumped at this chance of buying it back a lot cheaper than I was previously told (over $500). I made a single bid, and here we are. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this website back to life.
My days as a promoter of metal shows are probably long gone, but that doesn't mean I won't look into putting a show together one day again. I had a pretty good run, had some pretty good shows, but I could have done a better job. I apologize to anyone that had a bad experience, or some kind of fall out with me due to either miscommunication, disagreements, and poor choice making on my part. I do hope you reach out to me if this is the case, and hash things out: firstname.lastname@example.org
What I hope to do this time around is to bring everything and everyone I know, new and old... to one place away from the confines of social media (not that i'm 100% against it). Here it will just be us. Our strong metal community. There are many of you out there that I don't know, but I hope to meet at some point. Thank you for stopping by. Its a work in progress, so keep coming back!
